Dell Latitude 7400 2-in-1 automatically wakes up when approached

Dell has introduced its new Latitude 7400, a 2-in-1 business laptop targeted at professionals and their unique needs. Among other things, the model sports multiple convenient security features, such as an infrared camera for Express Sign-in with Windows Hello and the ability to automatically log out of the system when the user steps away from their computer. As well, Dell has included a number of ports that eliminate the need to carry various adapters.

Because the Latitude is a 2-in-1 model, users get both laptop and tablet-like functionality from the machine. Dell is offering the Latitude 7400 as a 14-inch Full HD offering with a svelte 3lbs weight, machined aluminum chassis, and slim bezels. The redesign shaves about 25-percent of the weight found on the previous model.

Unlike the latest trend in ultra-portable laptops, Dell has elected to pack more than just USB-C ports into its new Latitude model. Buyers get a pair of USB-A ports and another two USB-C ports, as well as HDMI and an SD card reader. This covers the most commonly used ports on a laptop, decreasing the times someone will find themselves without the right adapter.

The Latitude 7400 2-in-1 features the 8th-generation Intel quad-core processors alongside up to 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB of Class 40 storage. Users can optionally get the convertible laptop with gigabit LTE support, enabling them to get online while away from reliable and/or safe WiFi connections.

Other features include a Super Low Power mode that helps reduce battery usage, Express Sign-in that uses Windows Hello to almost instantly log in a user when they open the laptop, fingerprint security, and a proximity sensor that locks the laptop when the user steps away from it.

Dell will release Latitude 7400 2-in-1 model in March for $1,600 USD.
