Cowon S9 Curve gets October Europe release, full specs

Cowon's S9 Curve PMP is set to launch in Germany by the end of October, according to the company's regional webpage.  The S9 has a 3.3-inch widescreen 16m color AMOLED capacitive touchscreen, running at 480 x 272, and will initially be available in 8GB and 16GB versions with a 32GB model following later.

Unlike its Korean counterpart, the Euro S9 will lack a DMB digital TV tuner.  However it still has A2DP Bluetooth v2.0 for cordless stereo headphones, up to 40hrs audio playback or 8hrs video playback from the full charge, and Cowon's usual broad array of supported standards.  The Curve can play MP3, WMA, OGG, FLAC and WAV audio files, and MPEG-4 SP (e.g. DivX/XviD), WMV9 SP and H.264 BP video files; maximum video resolution is 480 x 272 30fps.

The PMP also includes a built-in microphone for voice recording, a text and image viewer, and an FM radio.  It measures 57.08 x 105.75 x 12.7mm and is listed as weighing around 100g.  What most people will be interested in, however, is Cowon's already legendary audio quality; the company usually produces excellent sounding PMPs, and hopefully the S9 Curve will be no exception.
