CNN wants Google Glass users to upload straight to iReport

CNN's iReport is about to get Glassy. The news organization is now allowing Google Glass users to upload directly to their citizen-journalism platform. It might be a small sampling, but offers a unique perspective on the news.

The iReport page is a flashy take on homegrown tales, and operates a bit like blogging site Medium. The content is monitored, though, so you won't be able to get the "open season on anything people want to discuss" topics. For a forum that's supposed to be giving a first-person perspective of life, there may be no better medium than Glass.

People out and about have been able to post to CNN iReport from their desktop or mobile apps to date, so it's not a huge stretch to allow Glass. For all that Glass is capable of, capturing first-person perspective is one of the more impressive aspects. It will also allow for those Glass users who have been getting in trouble video-ing people to at least claim they're journalists, now (I'm kidding!).

To use the iReport functionality, CNN says you'll have to allow CNN to send notifications to your Glass headset. Once that's done, CNN suggests you manage your settings and link your iReport profile. Once you do that, "CNN iReport" will be your default option for sharing pictures and videos. Old school press fedora and credentials not included.
