Clevo X8100 is latest challenger for "most powerful notebook" title

Nothing like a bit of hyperbole to brighten up a notebook, and AVADirect are doing themselves proud with the Clevo X8100.  Billed as "the most powerful notebook for gamers", the X8100 is an 18.4-inch 1920 x 1080 Full HD monster with up to Intel's Core i7-920XM processor, up to dual NVIDIA GTX 285M 2GB graphics and up to 8GB of DDR3 memory.

There's also room for three hard-drives – which can be set up in RAID 0 or 1 configurations – together with more connectivity than you may have cables for.  As well as HDMI, DVI and VGA video outputs there are three USB 2.0, FireWire, eSATA and gigabit ethernet, audio in/out (including a separate S/PDIF port), ExpressCard 34/54 and an input for the TV tuner antenna.  Wireless options include WiFi a/g/n and Bluetooth 2.1+EDR.

A 2-megapixel webcam and five integrated speakers round out this gaming behemoth, as well as some nifty user-customizable color changing LEDs.  The Clevo X8100 kicks off at $2,496.81, but that's liable to go sky-high when you start getting option-happy.
