Civilization VI finally arrives on PS4 and Xbox One this fall

Hit strategy game Civilization VI, a title that was released in May 2016, will finally be released on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles. The arrival will happen more than a year after the game made its console debut on the Nintendo Switch, giving other console players an opportunity to enjoy the game that is already available on PC, Mac, and iPad.Civilization VI, as with the Civilization games before it, is a turn-based strategy game where players attempt to build their empire in a world where competing leaders work on developing their own nations. The installment brings a number of changes to the game, including cities that physically grow across the map, plus civics and tech research boosts based on player actions and other leaders that mimics the traits of the people they're based on.

The game is built upon with the Expansion Bundle, which adds Gathering Storm and Rise and Fall, modes that add things like natural disasters, loyalty, and rebellion. The game is otherwise very similar to the ones before it, offering fans the nostalgia they want combined with suitable quality upgrades and improvements.

The Civilization games were historically available on computers, but have arrived on other devices in limited ways. Perhaps the most surprising expansion was Civilization VI's arrival as a full (and pricey) game on the iPad, a trend that was repeated last year when the game also arrived for Switch.

The full version of the game will be made available to purchase for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on November 22. The Expansion Bundle with Gathering Storm and Rise & Fall will be sold separately.
