Chrysler 300s gets new Dr. Dre Beats system, design upgrades for 2014

Chrysler's top-of-the-line full-size luxury sedan is getting a fresh Dr. Dre treatment. The 2014 Chrysler 300s will be equipped with a new Dre-designed, Dre-approved BeatsAudio sound system. To demonstrate the boomin', the Uconnect dashboard touchscreen system controls it all. The 2014 is also getting a design makeover.

The BeatsAudio system is made up of 10 speakers and a 12-channel amplifier, controllable through the existing Uconnect touchscreen. The 8.4-inch screen includes voice command functionality as ever, as well as app availability from Yelp, Pandora and others. It's all integrated with standard-fare cell phone sync and navigation.

The design theme this year is monochromatic with accents. The door handles match the body. Front fascia inserts, black chrome grille trim, gloss-black side window surround trim, updated headlights and taillight bezels, and optional gloss-black roof and 20-inch alloy wheels deck out the exterior. Inside the cabin, the black leather seats can be optioned to "Ambassador Blue."

Not much has changed under the hood. The 3.6-liter V-6, optional 5.7-liter V-8 Hemi, 8-speed AT, and choice of rear or all-wheel-drive are all still there. Other available features include a rear camera, blind spot monitoring, rear proximity detection, parking assists, reactive front head restraints, electronic stability control, and four-wheel disc anti-lock brakes.
