Chromecast surfaces in UK ahead of official launch

In recent weeks, it was made known Google's Chromecast would be arriving in the United Kingdom sometime this month, giving just about two weeks on the dot for an official launch to take place. Ahead of this, UK retailer Currys is showing the Chromecast on its website.

The Chromecast is up in a full product listing on Currys, where it is priced at £30 and listed as currently out of stock. There's no word on the page about when the product will be "in stock" again, so there's no hints about when product will begin shipping for those in the United Kingdom.

The appearance could be a solid sign that the upcoming Google announcement of its dongle's UK availability could be upon our friends across the pond. With the availability will come an additional market for the inexpensive media streaming stick, which has been growing at a clipped rate.

In case you missed it, we reviewed the Chromecast back in July of last year when it launched, giving the small stick a thorough look over.
