Chinese Windows 8 Preview Release leaked

We're edging closer to the Release Preview of Windows 8, promised to be made available during the first week of June, but the Chinese version of the preview has leaked out onto the internet. The 64-bit operating system weighs in at a hefty 3.34GB download, but doesn't include any English languageĀ capabilities. Users have already downloaded the build and confirmed it to be legit.

There was some initial skepticism that the ISO was real, but there have been several confirmation on Twitter. The size of the ISO is about right, users have pulled apart the image and found legit installation files, and eventually one brave user installed the ISO and confirmed that everything looked kosher.

Microsoft probably isn't too happy about the leak, but then again if it's only available in Chinese the damage should be limited. The build is said to include updated Metro apps, including News and Travel. Microsoft hasn't given a specific date for the official release yet, but it can't be too far away. If you're feeling particularly frisky and just have to see what all the fuss is about, have a mosey around until you find it.
