CBS All Access for PlayStation 4 now available

Not too long after launching an ad-free option, CBS All Access is now available for the PlayStation 4. The subscription service provides access to a slew of CBS content, including more than 8,500 on-demand episodes from a bunch of shows. Some users located in various U.S. cities are also given the option to stream their local CBS affiliate station live — according to CBS, this is available in places like Philadelphia, San Francisco, LA, NYC, and Chicago.

CBS All Access is available at two price points, one at $5.99/month for a 'reduced commercials' access and the other at $9.99/month for no commercials. This is similar to how Hulu operates, but gives content to CBS content exclusively, including primetime shows that are currently airing and older shows that one might consider classics.

The service is available on a bunch of different services, including iOS, Android, Windows 10, Amazon Fire TV and Fire TV Stick, Roku, Roku TVs, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and Chromecast.

Speaking about the addition, CBS SVP of Digital Platforms Rob Gelick said:

With the addition of PlayStation 4, CBS All Access is now available on every major connected device platform. This is a great milestone for the service and gives our subscribers even more ways to watch CBS programming — including CBS All Access's first original, Big Brother: Over the top — on their device of choice.

Of course, there are other online subscription options that bring CBS content access over the Internet, namely PlayStation Vue, which is a live television service available on mobile and PS4 that brings local affiliate CBS stations to some users. You can read our review of PlayStation Vue here.
