Cablevision irons out deal to carry HBO GO

In a press release today, cable television provider Cablevision has reached an agreement to start carrying HBO's authenticated online video portals HBO Go (and also Max Go) for its customer base. Cablevision customers who are currently subscribed to HBO and/or Cinemax will have unlimited access to the corresponding services at all times, everywhere in the U.S. with a high-speed Internet connection, and also through mobile apps on iPhone, iPad, iPod touch and select Android devices. The provider expects to debut these services in the upcoming months, so look out for the launch soon.

HBO GO, which offers more than 1400 online titles, allows instant viewing of each episode of every season of HBO shows such as current series like Game of Thrones (highly recommended by the author), True Blood, and Boardwalk Empire, as well as classics like The Sopranos, Sex and the City and Deadwood. Also, included are HBO original films, miniseries, sports, documentaries, and specials as well as a large variety of blockbuster theatricals.

With the online services, Cablevision customers will be able to view most new titles at the same time during their premiere on the networks and Cablevision states that customers will have "the ability to create a "Watchlist" that keeps track of bookmarked content for later viewing; bonus content including interviews, recaps, and behind-the-scenes extras; and customizable views showing titles in slideshow, grid or list format."
