Cablevision announces new PC to TV Media Relay service for customers

I bet there are lots of computer users out there who enjoy watching video on Hulu or YouTube and have wished that they could watch on the TV in the living room rather than on the computer without having to connect a PC to their TV. If you are a customer of Cablevision the company has announced a really cool new service called PC to TV Media Relay.

The new service lets customers shoot anything that they see on their computer screens from video to photos to the TV without needing any more equipment. The content is sent across the Cablevision network with the press of a button to a dedicated channel on the TV accessible only to the customer.

A trial of the service is set to start in June 2010 for customers. The service will also allow internet radio stations to be streamed to the TV along with email, documents, and spreadsheets. This would be a great way to get Netflix streaming flicks to your TV too. A Mac version of the service is under development.
