Breathometer is a mini breathalyzer for your smartphone

When you're out with your friends late at night, it's easy to lose sight on how much alcohol you consumed, and sometimes your blood alcohol level can be over the legal limit even if you don't feel drunk and think you can drive, which can be a regretful mistake that you'll think long and hard about when you're in handcuffs. However, a new accessory called the Breathometer aims to help folks figure out their blood alcohol level before they decide to get behind the wheel.

The Breathometer is currently campaigning right now on Indiegogo to try to raise $25,000 to get the tiny device mass produced. You can pre-order one right now for as low as $20, but there's limited availability, so hurry quick if you want to grab one at a low price. After those are sold out, you can still grab one for $50.

However, it seems like the more you pay for a pre-order, the earlier you'll get your Breathometer. For instance, if you pay $100, you'll get yours by July. If you pay $75, you'll get it by September, and $50 will earn you one by November. The $20 pre-order special, however, will have you waiting until January of next year, so if you're looking to save some money, you better be a patient one.

The device simply plugs into the headphone jack of your smartphone, and you simply fire up the accompanying app to get started. From there, you just breath into the device and it'll give you your blood alcohol content level. The campaign has 32 days to go, and so far it has raised over $5,500 out of its $25,000 goal.
