Brammo Empulse R electric superbike leads the industry

If you're in the market for a brand new electric two-wheeled motor vehicle this year, you're going to want to check out Brammo's 2012 Empulse. This year Brammo is bringing both the Empulse and the Empulse R to the USA on the 8th of May, describing both bikes as having "the world's first drivetrain that has been designed and built for a production electric motorcycle." These electric motorcycles will be jamming you down the road 100 mph (on the R model) with 121 miles per charge!

The Brammo team is claiming that the R model here will out-do the leading model electric motorcycle in the field today for performance. That vehicle is of course the Zero S ZF9 according to Ultimate Motorcycling with 114 mile range and a top speed of 88 miles per hour. As Brommo's founder and CEO Craig Bramscher says:

"The Empulse and Empulse R are a milestone for Brammo and the new electric benchmark for the motorcycling industry. I know when I reveal the bikes on May 8 people are going to be blown away by the integrity of the design and the focused presence this motorcycle commands.

When we first revealed the Empulse prototype, our customers had some very clear feedback for us and that feedback has inspired much of what you will see in the production version." – Bramscher

The speed at which both Brommo vehicles here can be recharged is an impressive 5 miles of range per 10 minutes of casual charging. You can totally recharge either bike then with a straight 3.5 hours of power. Sound like a vehicle you'd like to take on a trip across the country? I'm sure the Easy Rider in you is humming.
