Bound by Flame gameplay trailer unveiled: PS4, PS3, Xbox 360, PC this Spring

This week the game Bound by Flame has been introduced to the public by its developers at Spiders Studio. This game is set to inflict a bit of classic RPG storytelling on the current generation of gaming consoles and the PC, complete with the Dark Fantasy genre at the helm. This game will be coming to PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, gaming PCs, and PlayStation 4 inside of the second quarter of 2014.

What's odd about this game – from our perspective – is that it's been in development for a while, sort of under cover. The team responsible for the game have been making releases about it since all the way back in August of 2013, but it's only not gaining some serious traction due to their newest trailer.

This trailer shows off some hefty gameplay inside the current build for the title, while screenshots have been stoking the flame for months.

You'll be playing a character by the name of Vulcan – specifically male or female, if you have a preference – infected with a flame beast. In the trailer above you'll be treated to the most giggle-worthy announcer to tell you this and a lot more about the game as well. Spiders Studios Producer Walid Miled took to the PlayStation blog this afternoon as well to let some key points be known about the game.

"In Bound by Flame, you better be prepared before you charge into a fight. Wait, no, scratch that. You'd better not charge into a fight at all. Sneak instead, booby trap the place, or fireball the hobblers to pieces. That's what I'd recommend.

Well, that's how I would do it, anyway, but I guess that's because I'm a chicken." – Spiders Studios Producer Walid Miled

Miled goes on to note that this game is NOT an "infiltration game" as such – instead he's keen to point out that there are many different types of fighting the enemies you'll encounter along your way. Dodging attacks, breaking attacks, and rolling with everything from a couple of small daggers to a massive war sword is on the books.

Customization is also a big part of this game. "In-depth upgrade and customization" is included, as you'll also witness int he trailer above. Upgrading in this game is both for looks and for impacting the characteristics of your player.

Above you'll also see the "First Teaser" released by the crew back in September (the first video is specific to the PS4). If the game looked this good (in cinema tics, to be fair), we're pretty pumped about how well it'll play when it's actually released. None too flashy – just down and dirty enough to be especially entertaining.
