B&O's BeoPlay H7 headphones are wireless, beautiful

Bang & Olufsen has introduced its new BeoPlay H7 wireless headphones. This latest pair of headphones features a wire-free design coupled with advanced features like a touch-based control pad. As with the maker's other products, the functionality is joined by sleek form, with both aluminum and leather making its way into the construction. On top of it all, B&O promises the headphones offer "amazing sound quality."

The headphones were designed by Jakob Wagner, and are light at only 280 grams (a little under 10 ounces). They feature an aluminum touch pad on the right ear, which allows the wearer to control the audio using finger swipes and taps. The aluminum material is joined by leather, polymer, and fabric.

Audio is delivered by electro-dynamic 40mm drivers with 20 to 22,000Hz frequency range; an integrated omni-directional microphone allows the headphones to double as a headset. Audio is delivered over Bluetooth 4.1 with supports for AAC and aptX, but there's also a 3.5mm audio jack for using an audio cable.

Other features include a user-replaceable and rechargeable 770mAh battery — B&O brags that you can listen to music all day long with the battery; it offers up to 20 hours of playback over Bluetooth on a charge. Charging it up, meanwhile, takes about 2.5 hours. Charging is done over micro USB.

The headphones are available now from B&O for $449 USD.
