BLU Pure XR teased with an August 29 launch date

Blu has revealed a sneak peak of a new smartphone called the Blu Pure XR, something it describes as a 'premium' smartphone that will be officially announced this upcoming August 29. The company is remaining quiet about the phone's features, but a product listing for the smartphone went live on Amazon briefly this month before being pulled; assuming it was accurate, we already know most of the phone's specs.

Assuming the product listing's specs are correct, the Blu Pure XR will feature 4GB of RAM, making it notable above other Blu smartphone products. That will be joined by an appreciable 64GB of internal storage space and a microSD card slot for expanding that storage. The handset, which runs Android 6.0, also includes a fingerprint scanner and 3000mAh battery.

The Pure XR includes a 5.5-inch display that supposedly has a 1280 x 720 resolution, though that'll probably not turn out to be the case. The Super AMOLED offering includes Gorilla Glass 4, while under the hood lies a 2GHz MediaTek MT6755 Helio P10 octa-core processor and Mali T-860 graphics.

Around back is said to lie a 16-megapixel rear camera while the front has a more modest 8-megapixel camera. There's 802.11b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity, and support for two SIM cards. The phone, as you'd suspect, supports 4G LTE. Assuming the product listing is true, the phone will be priced at $299 USD.
