BLU Dash 5.0, Dash Music 4.0, and Dash Jr. added to line up

BLU has announced a variety of new smartphones for its lineup: the DASH 5.0, DASH MUSIC 4.0, and the DASH JR., all of which are modest in both hardware and price, as well as unlocked and being shipped in six different colors. As with previous BLU handsets, such as the DASH 4.5 we reported on back in July, these handsets are aimed at users who have decidedly low and mid-range needs.

The DASH JR is the cheapest in the bunch, offering a 1GHz Cortex-A5 processor and just 256MB of RAM, with graphics coming by way of a MALI 400 chip. The display is a 3.5-inch HVGA TFT panel with a resolution of 320 x 480, and the rear camera is fitted with a 2-megapixel sensor with a max recording ability of 480p/30fps.

The DASH JR has 512MB of internal storage that can be expanded with a microSD card, and runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread. Following that is the DASH MUSIC 4.0, a handset being aimed at more media-centric purposes, hence the name. The MUSIC 4.0 runs a dual-core 1.3GHz MediaTek MT6572 alongside 512MB of RAM, and features a 4-inch 480 x 800 TFT LCD. Inside there's likewise a Mali 400 GPU, as well as a 3.2-megapixel rear camera.

And last is the BLU DASH 5.0, which features a 5-inch 480 x 854 FWVGA display and 5-megapixel rear camera/VGA front-facing camera. Inside, users will find 4GB of internal memory and a dual-SIM option. The DASH JR is priced at less than $50 USD, while the MUSIC 4.0 is priced at $99 USD and the DASH 5.0 for $129.
