BlackBerry QNX platform name leaked as BBX

RIM's QNX-based next-gen platform for its BlackBerry smartphones and tablets may be called BlackBerry X or BBX. The name was leaked by a slide shown during a presentation at the QNX Auto Summit Japan 2011 conference, which was focused on in-car entertainment systems developed on the QNX framework.

The in-car system called QNX Car 2 was presented to support BBX, iOS, and Android mobile platforms. It's not certain if this will indeed be the official name, but it has a nice ring to it and we'll likely find out more at the BlackBerry DevCon event coming up in two weeks.

The QNX-based platform is already running on RIM's BlackBerry PlayBook tablet and is expected to launch on future BlackBerry smartphones. The first QNX BlackBerry is rumored to be the Colt and could arrive in Q1 of 2012.
