Black Nintendo Wii limited editions confirmed for Europe

We've been waiting for a black Nintendo Wii to spread beyond Japanese shores for months now, and the company has gone one step toward that goal by at least promising the menacing console for a European launch.  As of November 6th, UK gamers will be able to pick up the black Wii – complete with matching Wii Remote, Nunchuk and MotionPlus peripherals – along with copies of Wii Sports and Wii Sports Resort.

That launch will be followed by general availability of the console in Europe, on November 20th.  Nintendo will also push out a black version of their Classic Controller Pro, too, though it will be sold separately rather than as part of a bundle.  No pricing has been suggested for any of the new releases.

Unfortunately, Nintendo USA are still keeping quiet on any possible launch on the other side of the Atlantic.  In fact, the last we heard – back in July – was that the company had "no plans to have other colors of Wii in the US", which seems pretty resolute to us.
