Bing adds international hotel booking, improves mobile search

Microsoft is winding the week down with another two Bing announcements, this one most notably including the arrival of international hotel booking in 22 countries with support for 14 languages. This allows users to book accommodations from Canada, Mexico, throughout Europe, in Hong Kong, and more, and is done in partnership with TripAdvisor. Also joining this new feature are some improvements to Bing's mobile search results.

With hotel booking, users search for a hotel using Bing, where they'll be provided with an information box on the right-hand side of the screen, as shown below. The hotel's details will be provided alongside a map and user reviews from TripAdvisor, as well as a "Reservations" section that is self-explanatory.

Joining this are the aforementioned improvements for mobile users. Says Microsoft, the improvement tweak how search results are displayed on mobile devices, and represents the first of multiple planned optimizations arriving in the coming weeks.

Users on mobile will now see star ratings in search results when applicable, the number of reviews, deep site links for quicker navigation, file type notifications like [PDF] when applicable, and timestamps. This is the latest of several announcements the company has made recently, which you can find out more about by hitting up the timeline below.
