Bethesda's Skyrim updated on PC only

The latest patch has gone live for Bethesda's hot-selling role-playing game The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim, but as to be expected, it is only available for PC players. For those playing on the Xbox 360 and PS3, the game remains at version 1.4. PS3 players in particular still have reason to be sore because that version still has some memory bugs. The PS3 version of the game game under increasing scrutiny.

That is, of course, because as players delved further into the adventure, their save files became unwieldy and caused the game to have extreme lag. The 1.4 update addressed that issue to some extent, but Bethesda still conceded that it wasn't perfect. Version 1.5 would, hopefully, further address that issue. In fact, developers said that even when they released the game, they already knew the PS3 version might be buggy but they released it anyway.

The 1.5 update is able to go live for PC gamers right away because there is no red tape. The update is also ready to go for PS3 and Xbox 360, but the process of patching a game on either console requires the publisher to go through Sony or Micosoft, respectively. There is a queue of game patches, and the console manufacturer needs to verify the file before it pushes it to system owners. According to Bethesda, the patch was submitted to both Sony and Microsoft 10 days ago. Now it's just a matter of playing the waiting game.
