Azimuth SP-1 Crazy Rider watch is a motorcycle inspired mechanical beauty

For most of us, all we know about watches are smart wearables that are more computer on the inside than the mechanical masterpieces that high-end watchmakers produce. Azimuth has a new mechanical watch that is inspired by motorcycles dubbed the SP-1 Crazy Rider. The watch is designed to look like the engine of a motorcycle.

That produces a case that has an asymmetrical shape with the right side being slightly larger than the left. In the center of a watch is a chain wrapped around a pair of sprockets. That chain actually controls the hour display for the watch.

The hour hand goes around the outside of the watchcase while the minute hand ticks down the minutes only on the right side of the screen. The back of the watch has a clear glass crystal that covers the movement and allows you to look inside the watch and see it all work.

The watch is 55mm wide and is attached to a leather strap. It is water resistant to 30-meters and uses a modified ETA movement. The run is limited to 100 units and they will sell for CHF 5,250. Google tells me that CHF is Swiss Francs and at the current exchange rate that means the watch is about $5,266 here in the US.
