The one question about Pluto that just won’t die down

The one question about Pluto that just won’t die down

Many people alive today learnt that our solar system has nine planets, which included Pluto. However, that changed in 2006 when the International Astronomical Union voted to relegate Pluto to the status of a "dwarf planet" leaving us with only eight internationally recognized planets. The rationale for the decision was based on a criteria for planets that says that a planet must be spherical, orbit the sun and have cleared its neighboring region of other objects.

The cheapest Sonos speakers are now even better value

The cheapest Sonos speakers are now even better value

Sonos is widely regarded as one of the pioneers of wireless home speakers. As one of the trailblazers, the company has developed numerous patents regarding wireless speaker connectivity (as Google discovered in court recently). All of that research and development typically doesn't come cheap, however, and coupled with Sonos' desire to deliver high-quality sound, its speakers can cost a little more than the competition, including speakers from Google and others.

Motorola MA1 dongle brings wireless Android Auto to the masses

Android Auto has been around for nearly seven years and in that time has managed to find its way into a wide variety of new cars on the market. It's aim has been to reduce driver distraction while using a mobile phone by transferring your Android phone's major functionality to a more driver-friendly UI shown on a compatible car's in-car display. It leans heavily into Google Assistant's excellent natural voice recognition technology to further help minimize driver distraction by letting the driver control music, for example, or respond to messages with only their voice.

How to Choose the Right Gaming Monitor for Your PS5

How to Choose the Right Gaming Monitor for Your PS5

When choosing a gaming monitor for your PS5, the first thing to remember is that Sony designed the PS5 knowing it is primarily used in living rooms (via BBC). This means displays best suited for the console align with standard TV resolutions and 16:9 or 21:9 widescreen aspect ratios.

In particular, Sony has targeted 4K Ultra HD (UHD) TVs with High Dynamic Range (HDR) support for gaming and entertainment on the PS5, although it will also support video output at up to 8K resolutions. 8K TVs, however, are still prohibitively expensive for the most part, and frame rates at this resolution will take a substantial drop when full support for native 8K resolutions is added by Sony in a future update.

This Hydrogen Fuel Breakthrough Sounds Sweet

This Hydrogen Fuel Breakthrough Sounds Sweet

Hydrogen-powered Fuel Cell Electric Vehicles (FCEVs) have something of a bad rap despite having some clear advantages over conventional EVs like those made by Tesla. In fact, Tesla CEO Elon Musk has variously called the technology "mind-bogglingly stupid", "a load of rubbish", and "fool cells" (via CNBC). While Musk may have a vested interest in promoting Tesla's preferred battery-based EV technology, he is undoubtedly standing on some solid ground when it comes to questions over FCEV technology that have yet to be satisfactorily addressed.
