Asustek Launching New ASmobile Laptop Product Line
Asustek will soon introduce the "ASmobile" brand of laptops. This new line of "open architecture" laptops is targeting the DIY crowd, and will be built to support off-the-shelf parts while retaining a light and slim design. Budget conscious buyers look elsewhere because Asustek is targeting brand-loyal enthusiast – in hopes of getting as much money out them as possible.
The company is expected to release its first ASmobile laptop in the fourth quarter of 2006. It is reported that the shipments of the ASmobile-branded laptops will be around 100,000 to 200,000 for the rest of this year.
