Asus ZenPad 3S 10 tablet packs 9.7-inch 2K display

In late June a rumor was making the rounds that a new tablet would debut this month from Asus, that rumor has now come true. Reports of a new tablet launching have surfaced and the tablet is called the ZenPad 3S 10. The screen isn't quite 10-inches wide at 9.7-inches and it has LED backlighting and a resolution of 1536 x 2048.

The tablet features an aluminum body, is 5.18 to 7.15mm thick, and weighs 430g. That extra thickness is presumably the bulge around the camera. The rear camera is an 8MP unit with the front camera offering 5MP resolution. The home button also has an integrated fingerprint reader. Asus also fits the tablet with support for the Asus Z Stylus active stylus. The 9.7-inch screen has Asus Tru2Life display technology.

Tru2Life tech improves picture contrast, sharpness and brightness to make the images on screen look better. Asus put effort into the sound system of the tablet as well with flat five-magnet dual speakers, amplifiers and smart NXP that supports DTS Headphone: X technology. High-resolution 24-bit/192KHz audio is supported. The CPU inside the tablet is a 2.1GHz MediaTek MT8176 six-core, 64-bit processor pared with 4GB of RAM.

Internal storage is 32GB and it has a microSD card slot to expand storage up to 128GB. Power comes from a 5900 mAh internal battery that supports fast charge 3.0 if you opt to purchase another transformer. WiFi and Miracast are both supported along with Bluetooth. Charging is via a USB type-C port and the device has a headphone and mic 2-in-1 jack. The tablet also has GPS and GLONASS integrated. The official launch date is set for sometime in August and the tablet will cost NT$ 10,990.
