ASUS VivoBook X102BA Windows 8 notebook appears in leaked press shot

A leaked press shot has surfaced amidst rumors that ASUS will be expanding its VivoBook line with the 10.1-inch VivoBook X102BA laptop. The information comes from the folks over at the Swedish website SweClockers, who also got their hands on a run down of the machine's rumored specs. If all goes as said, the notebook will be available in September.

The laptop will fall solidly into the netbook range in terms of both design and display size, though the hardware is perhaps a bit more robust than many of the models launched in the netbook market. The display is said to have a resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels, as well as touchscreen support to go alongside Windows 8.

Under the hood, users will find a 1.0GHz dual-core AMD processor and a Radeon HD 8180 225MHz GPU. The hard drive will be available in a couple different capacities, according to the leak, starting at 320GB with a 500GB option being available as well. The 320GB hard drive model will ship with 2GB of DDR3L RAM, while the 500GB model will come with a solid 4GB.

As far as connectivity goes, there's the standard 802.11 b/g/n WiFi and Bluetooth 4.0. Ports, meanwhile, include one Ethernet, dual USB 2.0 slots and a single USB 3.0 slot, as well as VGA and HDMI for video output, an SD card reader, and a standard 3.5mm audio jack. The battery comes in two configurations based on which model is purchased – 22wH and 33wH, reportedly giving 5 hours of use.

The latest VivoBook will apparently be targeted at students, with the rumor stating that it includes Microsoft Office Home & Student 2013. As mentioned, the laptop is said to be arriving in September some time, with the priced pegged at 330 Euros / $440.09 USD. Not familiar with the VivoBook line?
