Asus mainboard gets onboard GPU and Lucid Hydra tech

I just mentioned the new gaming desktop and notebooks that Asus is showing off at Computex. Asus is also showing off a new mainboard with the first ever onboard GPU and Lucid Hydra technology. The board is based on the Intel X58 chipset.

The ATI onboard GPU has its own dedicated graphics memory. The company didn't get specific on exactly what GPU is on the board. We aren't expecting nay earth shattering onboard GPU performance. Other features include a pair of PCI-e x16 slots for graphics cards along with four x1 PCI-e slots.

On the back panel is a HDMI output, which is apparently the only output for the onboard video card. Rounding out the features is a pair of USB 3.0 ports, eSATA, Asus ROG Link, SATA 6Gbps connectors and more. That Molex connector on the board is said to be for extra GPU power.
