ASUS Eee Box EB1036 mini PC launches with Intel HD

Another miniature PC has hit the market, this time from ASUS. The company's Eee Box EB1036 is now available, with the ultra-slim tower offering Intel hardware under the hood. This is a lower-end model akin to the upcoming GeForce-toting Eee Box EB1037.

The Eee Box EB1036 arrives with an Intel Celeron J1900 2.0GHz quad-core Bay Trail processor alongside 2GB of memory and a 320GB hard drive. Such storage can be expanded if necessary via an SD card slot, or with the use of an external drive via one of the USB ports.

There are a trio of USB 2.0 slots and a single USB 3.0 port, as well as a COM port, Gigabit Ethernet, VGA and HDMI for video-out, and a couple of slots for adding additional memory. Connectivity comes in the form of 802.11n wireless.

Graphics come by way of Intel HD Graphics, and the entire assembly measures in at 8.6- x 6.7- x 1.15-inches, making a small option for those who need something svelte. The system is available now for $340 USD, though the price varies a bit by retailer.
