ASUS and others to show off new Google TV devices at CES 2013

Google may not have had the 2012 they wanted with their Google TV platform, but it looks like they're going to start things off right in 2013, with a slew of new Google TV devices being unveiled at CES 2013 next week. ASUS, as well as Hisense and TCL, all three of which will be new to the platform, but companies like LG, Vizio, and Sony will also be showing new devices next week as well.

In a blog post on the official Google TV blog, the company announced that a handful of companies will be showing off new Google TV devices, including ASUS, who are new to the platform. Google says these companies "will show off the newest Google TV platform," including "set-top boxes, integrated TVs, and IPTV boxes."

Of course, the most notable company in the mix is ASUS, who is already rumored to release the Qube, which made its way through the FCC back in November. The Qube may also be part of Google's Nexus lineup, which would make it the flagship Google TV device. It certainly wouldn't be surprising, since ASUS is the company behind Google's ever-popular Nexus 7 tablet.

As far as new partners, Google says it has nine partners in total for the TV software, with the major holdouts being Samsung (which has previously announced Google TV products, but haven't yet released anything) and Panasonic. Of course, we'll be there at CES 2013 all next week to bring you the latest coverage.
