Aston Martin DB4 GT Zagato Continuation cars cost £6m each

Aston Martin is bragging that people who are going to the 24 Hours of Le Mans 2019 will be among the first to see its most expensive car ever made. The car it's talking about its the Aston Martin DB4 GT Zagato Continuation, which is part of the Aston DBZ Centenary Collection. The car debuting at the race is one of only 19 examples that will be made.

The DB4 GT Zagato Continuation car will be on display for their entire 24-hour endurance race. The DB4 GT Zagato Continuation car is a track-only sports car, and each of the cars is the cumulation of around 4,500 hours of painstaking and meticulous artisan craftsmanship.

The display car is finished in Rosso Maja red paint and was matched to the original masters created by Max Meyer and ICI, the paint suppliers for the original cars. Inside the car has obsidian black leather covering the pads of the carbon fiber race seats, door cards, headliner, and rear environment.

The floors are covered in black Wilton carpets that are bound with obsidian black leather trim. The continuation cars have a larger 4.7-liter straight six engine that makes over 390 bhp. Power goes to the rear wheels via a 4-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential.

The car has a full FIA-approved roll cage as standard. The original cars were built to race against Ferrari in the '60s. Only 19 units were made in the '60s. The body panels of the Continuation cars are worked by hand, and the entire build uses old-world craftsmanship. Aston says these rides are the most expensive cars it has ever made with each selling for £6m plus taxes. Deliveries are set in Q3 2019 for the DB4 GT Zagato Continuation.
