Assassin's Creed 3 official cover art released

Following leaks on the much anticipated Assassin's Creed 3 game title, publisher Ubisoft has released the official cover art today, which offers many revealing clues to what this iteration has in store. The company also announced that it would be confirming all the details for the game next Monday, March 5 at 5pm.

The cover art images were posted to Ubisoft's Facebook page and depicts a hooded man wielding a tomahawk about to end the life of another man pinned to the ground. This protagonist appears to be of Native American heritage from the details that can be gleaned from his weapons and accessories. Besides the tomawahk in hand, the man is seen with a bow, hatchet blade, and a bald eagle motif emblazoned on his hood.

Behind the main character, a battle is taking place and a colonial American flag can be seen amidst the chaos. Clearly, this indicates that this forthcoming Assassin's Creed will be set during the American Revolutionary War. The game isn't expected to hit stores until October 30, but the company is set to release more details next week.
