ArduIMU DIY quadcopter has sonar and all kinds of cool

You probably remember that cool quadcopter from Parrot that can be controlled for the iPhone we spied back at CES. A designer named Jose Juilo created his own DIY version that is packed with electronics.

The quadcopter the guy designed is built on a metal frame and has four electric motors and propellers. It is able to hover in place and has sonar and ultrasonic sensors to keep the copter from crashing into objects.

The sensors on the little bird are cool and it will move in any direction it needs to avoid a crash be it up, down, left or right. Check out the YouTube video below to see the ArduIMU Quadcopter in action.
