Apple TV's search adds support for more apps in the US and Canada

The latest Apple TV's universal search has added support for more apps in the US and Canada. With this expansion, users are now able to view results from BBC America, Oxygen, and Classix in the United States. Canadian users also get expanded universal search results that now include a kid's channel, news, and more.

Apple TV's universal search is available on the fourth generation Apple TV and the new Apple TV 4K model. With the search feature, users can see results from many apps using a single search, a functionality shared by Roku players. The number of apps supported by the universal search feature depend on region, with most of them being supported in the US.

A smaller number are supported for Canada, Australia, France, Germany, Mexico, Spain, Japan, the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, the UK, and other countries. With this new expansion, Canadian users can have the following apps included in their universal search results: Treehouse, FXNOW Canada, Classix, ICI Tou.tv, and CBC TV, plus audio from Apple Music.

Some of the biggest apps supported by universal search in the US include Netflix, HBO GO/NOW, Syfy, PBS, AMC, A&E, Hulu, Lifetime, USA, Comedy Central, Bravo, Disney Jr/XD/Channel, FXNOW, FOXNOW, and more. Some of these are shared by other regions, namely Apple Music, iTunes Movies, and Netflix.
