The Apple TV app is already available on Apple's own hardware products, as well as a number of third-party platforms like Roku and, as mentioned, Fire TV as of late last week. Once Apple TV+ goes live on November 1, subscribers will be able to access its content on the Apple TV app.

According to 9t05Mac, the Apple TV app is now available to download on a handful of Sony smart TV, all of them 2019 model years. The rollout appears to be happening broadly across multiple countries, but its full availability isn't clear at this time. Owners of the following models can attempt to download the Apple TV app now:

- Sony Z9G Series

- Sony A9G Series

- Sony X950G Series

- Sony X850G Series (55in through 85in)

At its core, the Apple TV app is an aggregated source of content available from a variety of destinations, as well as content available to individually rent and purchase. Users can directly sign up for different services, including CBS All Access, Epix, Showtime, and HBO, among others. Users can also access content from Prime Video, Hulu, and more.
