Apple Mac mini update to bring Intel Haswell processors

Apple's Mac mini doesn't get a lot of love, at least when it comes to updates. It looks like that will change next month, if a Belgian retailer's website is accurate — a model update is set to arrive bearing Intel Haswell processors, as well as a couple other changes. Unfortunately, no images of the next iteration are available, but the end of February appears to be its slated launch time frame.

The information comes from a placeholder listing on Computerstore.be, a popular Belgian retailer that was contacted by a user over on the MacRumors forum. According to that user, the retailer said the information it has up on the website "comes from apple or reliable sources." Unfortunately, the store rep wasn't able to confirm a launch date, but the expected launch is the end of February due to the placeholders.

According to the placeholder, the new Mac mini will bring with it fourth-generation Intel Haswell processors, as well as 802.11ac WiFi and Intel Iris Graphics. Beyond that, the text details things like "high-speed Thunderbolt connection" (Thunderbolt 2?), as well as USB 3.0, HDMI, and, of course, OS X Mavericks.

The image shows the current model of the Mac mini, which is probably being used as a placeholder. Whether the next iteration will bring its own refreshed design or will hold solid to what already exists isn't yet known, but the close launch date means we might see some images start to crop up in the next couple weeks.
