Apple Final Cut Pro Jaw-Dropping Revamp Coming Next Week?

If you're into film making—whether amateur or pro—you've probably crossed paths with Apple's Final Cut Pro at some point in time if you don't already use it on a regular basis. One of the industry's leading movie editing softwares, Final Cut Pro is rumored to get a "jaw-dropping" revamp and a major reveal as soon as next week.

There is evidence to suggest that Apple may be taking over the stage at the SuperMeet during the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) expo in Las Vegas next week for the announcement and demonstration. Several other sponsors who were set to take the stage have been canceled, as a result of Apple demanding ALL stage time exclusively.

Canon's presenter Philip Boom was set to take the stage, but has canceled his appearance after being told of Apple's demand on stage time. The same happened for Frank Capria of Avid-L2. Avid even confirmed that the SuperMeet director Michael Horton canceled their sponsorship and remarked that "Apple doesn't want anyone to have stage time but them."

What kind of announcement could Apple possibly be making at NAB to warrant such a takeover? This of course leads many to conclude a full demonstration of an awesomely revamped Final Cut Pro. The software was last updated back in July 2009 and has since not seen any major improvements. A Final Cut Studio expert Larry Jordan had attended Apple's meeting on the updated software, and although he has an NDA with Apple, he did manage to say that it will indeed be a "jaw-dropper."
