Apple files patent app for better battery

One of the most important things in the tech world for gadgets, computers, and even cars and lots more are batteries. Innovations in battery design and construction will bring us gadgets that run longer on a charge, more powerful devices, and EVs that can drive further with a charge. Battery tech has huge potential to change the tech world for the better.

Apple has filed a patent app that outlines a new battery that hope to make notebooks run longer. The app is titled, "Increasing Energy Density in Rechargeable Lithium Battery Cells." The crux of the app is a way to make a battery that uses what the Apple calls multi-step constant-current constant-voltage charging technique.

That means that the power capacity of the battery could be increased while the size of the battery would remain the same. The technique described in the patent app would allow the thickness of the anode material inside to be increased in volumetric and gravimetric energy density. Sounds cool and it boils down to more power for the same battery size.
