Apple 24-inch LED Cinema Display unboxed: slick & sizable

Apple's 24-inch LED Cinema Display – announced at the MacBook event back in October – began shipping on November 14th, and Apple Insider have shared their unboxing.  As expected, the new screen is a perfect match for the late-2008 unibody MacBook and MacBook Pro models; it's also packed full of neat usability touches.

The casing has been subtly reworked, so as to be less obtrusive and collect less dust.  Meanwhile the power brick has been subsumed into the body of the Cinema Display itself, and there are no physical controls; shutdown is triggered automatically when the MacBook is disconnected or powered off.

According to Apple Insider, the LCD panel used is different to that found in the iMac, but like Apple's desktop computer the colors are vivid and viewing angles broad.  As you might expect, it's a fingerprint magnet too.
