iMovie '11 with All New Effects and Editing Announced

Apple Chief Architect of video applications Randy Ubillos announces the magical iMovie '11, a part of the ever-expanding iLife '11. This version has better audio editing by continuing to make sophisticated editing simple, basically the same logo, one step effects, People finder, news and sports themes, and movie trailers. All of this big news in the easiest to use program ever. Rockin it.

Color coded audio editing. Grabbing the whole segment (or just a portion) to raise or lower the volume, and audio effects comparable to the video effects added in '09. Super-quick preview and single-click additions. As far as simple edits to video go, for example, you can now freeze and highlight the last frame of your video (or whatever frame you'd like) and flash and Ken Burns Effect it. Shiny!

Then there's Movie Trailers, you can turn a list of ad-libs into a high-quality movie trailer list, aka you're the director, your sister is the grip, and your dog is the star! It gives you suggestions for how the trailer aught to look for what kind of movie you intent to make, and you've just got to plug in movies you've filmed or made! Keywords for videos help you out with this, allowing you to see clips of your movies organized by "Group" or "Action" or "Closeup" plus lots more. Very simple drag-and-drop interface as it's always been on iMovie, very quick on whichever machine they're using in this presentation. Absolutely no loading time at all. And poof! The trailer they've created is epic, fades in and out, correct timing and everything. Impossibly easy to use, takes out the job of the human almost completely. Themes can be anything from a blockbuster hit to a fun friends adventure.
