Anker Nebula Capsule projector is the size and shape of a soda can

Anker has launched a new projector called the Nebula Capsule on Indiegogo, where it hopes to fund the device. Boasting a shape and size akin to a soda can, this projector is small enough to easily carry around, but with more features than most competing portable projectors. Among other things, the Nebula Capsule is able to project an image measuring up to 100-inches across.

This is the only Android 7.0 smart DLP projector, according to Anker, which is best known for its charging devices. The Nebula Capsule features 360-degree omni-directional audio thanks to 5 watt speakers coupled with an "intelligent amplifier." This is similar to the type of audio you get from things like the Echo, and in that spirit it can also be used as a standalone Bluetooth speaker.

The projector has a built-in battery that is able to power 2.5 hours' worth of movie playback or up to 40 hours of audio. The capsule measures 4.7-inches x 2.7-inches overall and weighs less than 15 ounces. Features include enhanced treble and bass, Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity, and a speaker grille featuring 9,000 holes for audio dispersion.

Nebula Capsule is equipped with fast-charging technology that enables it to recharge to 70-percent in a single hours and to 100-percent in 2.5 hours. As well, Anker says its projector can be charged while it plays video, which is something many pico projectors aren't able to do. Because the system features Android, users are able to directly download apps like Netflix and Hulu.

Users are also able to display video from other devices either through screen mirroring (tablets, phones, laptops, etc) or through HDMI, which supports any HDMI device including game consoles and Blu-ray players. There's also USB OTG. Finally, the capsule has 8GB of internal space, an 854 x 480 resolution, 100 ANSI lumens brightness, and a $199 USD starting price.
