Angry Birds hits Intel AppUp center for notebooks & netbooks

Angry Birds is hitting PSP and PS3 this week, and now Intel is getting into the action as well. Rovio has announced that Angry Birds for notebooks and netbooks is landing in the Intel AppUp center, the chip company's download store, today, regularly priced at $9.99 or £5.99, but currently discounted to just $4.99.

The AppUp center is preinstalled on certain notebooks and netbooks using Intel chips, but it's also available as a free download for Windows XP and Windows 7 machines. Since most netbooks and notebooks don't have a touchscreen, unlike the smartphones Angry Birds is more commonly found on, it uses the trackpad instead to catapult birds at precarious towers of green pigs.

The Intel AppUp center version marks the first time Angry Birds is released and available for netbooks and consumer laptops

Jan. 4, 2011 – Espoo, Finland – Today, Rovio is happy to announce Angry Birds in the Intel AppUpSM center.
