Analyst suggests new MacBook Pros coming next month

We're edging closer and closer to WWDC 2012, and rumors have been flying of a potential MacBook Pro refresh with updated Retina displays and Intel's mobile Ivy Bridge processors. RBC Capital markets believes the same, telling investors in a recent note that Apple is due to refresh its MacBooks in June, and that a new iPhone should be released towards the end of the year.

In addition to the refreshed MacBook Pros, analyst Amit Daryanani believes that a MacBook Air refresh will come within the next six months. He goes on to say that consumers may become wary of Apple's design guidelines for iPhones, seemingly sticking to a two-year cycle between major design changes. That would cause customers to hold off purchasing new handsets until the next design rolls around.

Stocks of the MacBook Pros have been low recently, a telltale indicator that a refresh is imminent. Rumors have suggested that the new laptops will feature Intel's Ivy Bridge processors, including an improved HD 4000 GPU, plus all new Retina displays as well as USB 3.0 support. High resolution icons have been discovered in Mac OS X Lion and Mountain Lion that point to such a change. WWDC is looming, with Apple expected to make an announcement at the event regarding the new MacBook Pros.
