Amazon Prime Exclusive Phones adds Alcatel A30 and Moto G5 Plus

Last summer, Amazon launched what it calls 'Prime Exclusive Phones,' which are subsidized Android handsets offered to Prime members at a discount...and with advertisements on the lock screen. If you don't mind having to glance at ads whenever you turn your phone on, the deal is a decent way to get a decent handset for less than the typical sticker price. We've seen some budget-tier handsets join the lineup over the past several months, and newest among them is both the Moto G5 Plus and the Alcatel A30.

This marks the first time Alcatel has offered a smartphone as part of Prime Exclusive Phones, whereas Motorola has previously offered two different handsets under the subsidized perk. The Alcatel A30 features a 5-inch HD display alongside a Qualcomm quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, and a microSD card slot for cards up to 32GB in capacity.

This Alcatel handset also sports a rear 8-megapixel camera, support for 4G LTE, and comes with features like tap-to-wake and flip to mute. The phone runs Android 7.0 Nougat, and is priced at $59.99 USD when acquired through Amazon's subsidized offering. This is $40 off its regular price.

Joining that is yet another Motorola phone, the Moto G5 Plus. This phone features a slightly larger 5.2-inch Full HD display, a more powerful octa-core processor, as well as more sophisticated features like a fingerprint reader. The G5 Plus also sports 2GB of RAM and 32GB of storage (or 4GB and 64GB depending on model), as well as 4G LTE support.

Amazon is offering this model for $184.99 (32GB) and $239.99 (64GB) through its Prime promotion. Both phones are available to pre-order now for Prime members.
