Altec Lansing Super LifeJacket and Freedom Earbuds feature Bluetooth tech

Altec Lansing is on hand at CES 2016 and among the new items they are showing off in Las Vegas are the Super LifeJacket Wireless Bluetooth portable speaker and the Freedom wireless earbuds. The Super LifeJacket portable speaker is IP68 rated to survive underwater indefinitely without damage.

The speaker is also dustproof, shockproof, snowproof, floatable, and submersible. It are aimed at people who want music with them on the beach, by the pool, or at the lake. The Super LifeJacket will retail for $299.99 and is the first in the a series. It has a 3-way speaker enclosure, dual 2-inch neodymium woofers, dual 1.2-inch tweeters, dual 2.5-inch subwoofers, and dual 3-inch passive radiators.

It has a 100-foot Bluetooth range, 50-hour battery life, wireless pairing for up to seven speakers, and multi-point to pair up to three mobile devices at once. The Freedom Earbuds are set for a Q2 2016 launch at $149.99. They have internal rechargeable batteries and leave no cords for the user to deal with.

The battery inside each is good for 6-hours of use and they are IPX7 rated for resisting sweat during workouts. Integrated Bluetooth GPS tech makes it easy to find a lost earbud. They have 100-foot Bluetooth range, integrated mic, buttons for calls and controlling tracks, and automatic shutoff to preserve battery life.
