Alienware 55-inch OLED 4K Gaming Monitor will cost you $4k

Today Dell and Alienware revealed the Alienware 55 OLED Gaming Monitor, the first 55-inch OLED Gaming Monitor in the world, per Dell. This device has fast IPS (in-plane switching) tech, 120Hz variable refresh rate, and 0.5ms (gray-to-gray) response time. Up front it's all gaming business, around back it sports Alienware's newest industrial design ethos in full effect – it's simple, yet bold, and it rolls with AMD Radeon FreeSync technology under its hood.

This monitor has 98.5% DCI-P3 color coverage (color gamut, typical) and 55-inches (diagonal measurement) of OLED color and sharpness. Across those 55-inches you're going to get 4K UHD resolution – that's 3840 x 2160 pixels, 0.3108 mm x 0.3108 mm, 81 PPI (pixels per inch). Brightness on this monitor is 400 cd/m2 (@3% peak) / 130 cd/m2 and it features per-pixel self-illumination (no backlighting).

In short – this monitor isn't inexpensive, so it'd better be packed with a shocking number of features. As such, it does indeed seem to have more special features and high-quality specs than we see in our average gaming monitor – or any computer monitor, really. It even goes so far as to add features that the average gamer wouldn't use – but also wouldn't mind having – like 2 x 14W speakers (tuned by Waves MaxxAudio).

You'll find a full set of specifications amongst the images in the gallery in this article, so you'll get as many details as you could possibly desire. You'll find DisplayPort 1.2, three HDMI 2.0 ports, 4x USB ports, SPDIF Audio line-out, and a headphone jack as well.

The height of this monitor (with the stand attached) is approximately 770.6mm / 30.34", and the depth (with stand) is 263.91mm / 10.39", while width is always 1225.9mm / 48.26". With the stand removed, you'll have a height of 717.2mm / 28.24", and a depth of 80.3mm / 3.16". So prepare your desk or wall accordingly with stand or VESA adapter (200 mm x 200 mm & 300 mm x 200 mm) mounting.
