Akihabara review the Kohjinsha UMPC

I really can't get enough of the sweet, sweet Kohjinsha sub-compact, and after seeing Akihabara's video flaunting of the twisty-screened UMPC-alike I want one even more.  Offering up the information that rather than some fly-by-night concept producer, Kohjinsha is in fact a well known Japanese company similar to Dell, they found that the SA1F00A on test was – despite a dicky trackpoint – flexible and usable.

As in the previous PC Watch review, they did cast some doubt on the CPU (a 500MHz Geode LX800), which although good enough to web surf, run Office and email, stumbles when it comes to more media-rich functionality:

"Listening to MP3 and WMA audio files will be OK, but when it comes to watching DVDs off an external player, the CPU will not be able to handle USB 2.0, or properly decode Mpeg2 and DivX videos with high resolutions or bitrates" Akihabara News

Cheap build-quality and materials was also a concern.  I'd still love to get my hands on one, so if anybody at Kohjinsha is reading this and would like to give me a Christmas present, get in touch!
