Airbnb Wienermobile rental photos: One night encased in sausage

It would seem that the Oscar Mayer Wienermobile has been put up for rental – sort of. Users can now "relish a stay in the real Oscar Mayer Wienermobile" now, so long as they keep the place clean and don't disturb the neighbors. While this may appear to be a marketing stunt, all the checks for actual reality with Airbnb seem to be cleared – you can almost certainly go stay a night in the Wienermobile, for real.

The idea that you're staying the night inside of a hot dog should be strange enough. But imagine, if you will, that this stay also includes a bed and a bathroom. It's not a bath – you can't actually take a shower or bathe here – but you CAN relieve yourself if you do so choose. It's like a big bus in that way – or a touring RV (recreational vehicle).

Each Oscar Mayer Wienermobile is outfitted for short stays and promotional events – and has been outfitted as such since inception (more or less). This is not the first edition of the Wienermobile – that honor goes to the 1936 model created by the original Oscar Mayer's own nephew Carl.

There are currently 11 different editions of the Wienermobile, including one each from the following years: 1936, 52, 58, 69, 75, 88, 95, 2000, 01, 04, and 08. This is likely one of the purpose-built models from pre-2000!

"Amenities include a mini fridge stocked with Oscar Mayer hot dogs and all the Chicago-style hot dog essentials, an Oscar Mayer roller grill to take home, an outdoor space for comfortable hot dog eating and a custom Wienermobile art piece by local artist Laura Kiro." That's according to the Weiners who run this particular vehicle, AlexanDog and Jake N' Bacon.

There's a listing on Airbnb now in Chicago – and it'll likely keep traveling around the country from here on out. Don't expect to take the vehicle for a spin, but drop some cash and you'll be able to sleep in the strangest place in which you've ever slept, of that you can be sure.
