Adobe rolls out "major update" for Creative Cloud

Back on December 11, Adobe rolled out a fairly substantial update to Creative Cloud, adding new tools and other such changes that gave it quite the boost. They're doing this again, with the company announcing the release of a "major update" that we began hearing about back in May at The Creativity Conference. With the update comes Behance integration.

The Behance integration makes it easier for creative types to publish works and portfolios, as well as following other artists, getting feedback on projects, and other community-related activities. This is in addition to the ability to publish with Digital Publishing Suite for iPad, and PhoneGap for smartphones.

All 15 Adobe desktop apps that are part of Creative Cloud were updated with this release, each gaining its own array of improvements and new features. A few notable additions among them include Camera Shake Reduction in Photoshop CC, the addition of a Touch Type tool in Illustrator CC, Lumetri Deep Color Engine in Premiere Pro CC, and a rebuilt 64-bit architecture in Flash Pro CC.

And as a sort of commemoration of the big update, Adobe has also announced "Create Now: A Celebration of Creativity," which is the hosting of "collaborative art projects." One of the projects to kick it off is an invitation to create a personal homage to the Eames chair, remixing it with unique style and such. A first-place winner will receive an Eames plastic armchair.

Said Adobe's Senior VP and General Counsel of Digital Media David Wadhwani, "We've added a ton of new innovation to all our CC desktop apps like Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign. These apps include new features that increase productivity, streamline the effort to build mobile content and showcase some stunning new imaging and video science. And in addition to the traditional areas of innovation these apps are now connected to the powerful publishing and community features integral to the Creative Cloud experience."
