Acer Predator Special Edition seems perfect for paladins

Acer's Predator gaming ecosystem includes a whole lot of black and red. With the launch of their "Special Edition" lineup, they've moved beyond the expected color set. Here, with these products, they've begun using white aluminum with gold accents. Here, with the Helios 300, Rolltop Jr. Backpack, Galea 500, Cestus 510, and Fabric Mousepad, they're ready to outfit a holy protector of the light.

Specs for this newest edition of the already-out-in-black Helios 300 laptop include a 15.6-inch FHD (1080p) IPS display with or without the ability to support 144 Hz refresh rate. This device's two versions (both special edition versions) have Intel core processors, one an i5-8300H, the other an i7-8750H. Both include up to 16GB of DDR4 RAM with the ability to upgrade up to 32GB with two soDIMM modules.

This newest version of the Helios 300 weighs in at 2.7 kg and is the same size as its predecessor: 390 x 266 x 26.75mm. Inside you'll find up to 2TB hard disk drive space, up to 512GB PCIe Gen3 8Gb/s up to 4 lanes NVMe, and up to 512GB SATA 6Gb/s – your choice! Graphics are provided by an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 with 6GB dedicated GDDR5 VRAM. And it all comes in a special edition set of colors: White with Gold accents.

ALSO note: Inside this Helios 300 Special Edition for the first time are two of Acer's new all-metal AeroBlade 3D fans. They'll be controllable by the Acer PredatorSense app in three modes: Silent, Normal, and Coolboost.

There's a white edition of the Predator Galea 500 gaming headset as well. This headset has 7.1 Virtual Surround Sound tech and TrueHarmony sound with 3D Soundscape tech. Inside is a bio-cellulose driver with rubber surround – so you can get your bio-celluloids on.

There's a new Predator Cestus 510 in white, complete with a 50M+20M Dual Omron brand switch design. This mouse provides customization – removable and replaceable parts – and optional weights. This mouse has the ability to push up to 16,000DPI with 400 IPS. Colors in lights on this mouse include 16.8M RGB options with 8 preset patterns.

There's a matching Predator Fabric Mousepad for this collection, in gray, but still all match-friendly. On top is a low-friction fabric surface and Acer's own wild Predator artwork. On the bottom is a non-slip rubber base, and overall dimensions ring in at 355 x 255 x 3mm.

All of this gaming hardware will pack well inside the new Predator Rolltop Jr. Backpack in white. It's made with dual-tone polyester with a reinforced exterior. Pockets are water-repellant, both shoulder straps are padded, and there's a "ventilated back." Acer suggests the design is ergonomic – and there's a special laptop slip space inside.

Stay tuned as we get more information on the pricing and release of the whole collection of hardware shown and detailed above. We're crossing out fingers for "reasonable" and "soon." Somebody call Athene!
