Acer X960 VGA HSDPA smartphone leaks ahead of MWC

As well as the Acer DX650, a second handset that the company intends to launch on February 16th has also leaked.  The Acer X960 lacks its sibling's dual-sided usability, but likely more than makes up for it with a 2.8-inch VGA 640 x 480 touchscreen, 3G HSDPA together with WiFi b/g, and a 3.2-megapixel camera with flash.

The whole thing is powered by a 533MHz Samsung S3C 6410 processor, paired with 128MB RAM and 256MB ROM. There's also Bluetooth, GPS courtesy of the SiRF Star III chipset, and a microSD card slot. Acer have also slapped on a second, front-facing camera for video calls, which is apparently something the DX650 doesn't have.

Styling is not exactly outstanding, with the well-curved front looking a whole lot better than the somewhat ruggedized back.  Still, that grippy rubber backing should make the X960 easy to hold, and the dedicated GPS shortcut on the front gives a hint that location-based services are going to be a priority for the smartphone.  All other details will have to wait until the MWC press conference next week.
